Vintage Miller Lite Beer Neon Sign – Genuine Glass Tube – Franceformer Transformer Offered is a vintage Miller Lite beer advertising neon sign featuring genuine glass gas-tube neon mounted on its original-style metal support framework. This is a true vintage neon sign, not a modern LED reproduction. The sign uses actual glass neon tubing and a Franceformer high-voltage neon transformer. The original transformer, wiring, metal framework and construction are all shown in the photographs. A Piece of American Beer Advertising History Miller Lite has an important place in American advertising and beer history. The brand was nationally introduced by Miller Brewing Company in 1975, following earlier test marketing, and went on to become one of the most successful light beers in American history. Miller Lite became particularly famous for its highly recognizable “Tastes Great / Less Filling” advertising campaign, which featured professional athletes, celebrities and other prominent personalities. The campaign helped make Miller Lite one of the most recognizable beer brands of the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. This sign is a great representation of that era of American commercial advertising. Unlike modern reproductions, this piece uses genuine glass neon tubing and a traditional high-voltage transformer, giving it the authentic appearance and operation of the vintage neon signs that were displayed in bars, restaurants, liquor stores and other establishments. Age / Dating The exact manufacturing date of this particular sign is unknown. Based on its construction, glass tubing, metal framework, transformer and overall appearance, it appears to date from the late 20th century, likely somewhere within the 1970s-1990s era. I have not found documentation establishing an exact year, so the date is being offered as an approximate period rather than a guaranteed manufacturing date. There are documented Miller Lite neon advertising signs from this general period, including examples from the late 1970s and later decades. The Franceformer transformer and traditional gas-tube construction are consistent with an authentic commercial neon sign rather than a modern decorative reproduction. Condition & Operation The sign has been tested and FULLY LIGHTS. All of the visible neon tubing illuminates. The original transformer produces an audible hum while operating, which is characteristic of vintage neon transformers. The hum is noticeable and should be expected with a vintage neon sign of this type. The sign has substantial vintage character and shows signs of age and previous use, including surface rust/oxidation, scratches, dust, wear and patina to the metal framework and components. These imperfections are part of the overall vintage appearance. The glass tubing appears intact in the photographs and the neon illuminates as shown. Important Electrical Information This is an older high-voltage neon sign. Although it has been tested and is currently working, the transformer and wiring should be inspected by a qualified neon/electrical professional before permanent installation or extended use. Do not open, modify or service the transformer while connected to power. Great For: Home bar Man cave Garage Restaurant or tavern Brewery/bar decor Vintage advertising collection Miller Lite / beer memorabilia collection Neon sign collection Retro Americana decor This is a large, substantial vintage neon sign with genuine glass tubing, not a lightweight LED reproduction. It has the look, construction and character of authentic American bar and commercial signage from the late 20th century. A great opportunity to own an authentic vintage Miller Lite neon advertising piece that still fully lights and displays beautifully.
